Lucky win over Lazio... but the three points are nice
Inter's victory was not one of their best performances in recent weeks. The team looked slow and Alvarez was not at his usual best. Saying this, it was Alvarez that setup the first goal scored by Milito.
Somehow, I expected this kind of performance from Inter after a great victory over Milan and another fantastic display from the younger team against Genoa midway through the week.
Lazio were the better side and it was expected as Inter were a bit tired. After all it was a battle for fourth place and Lazio did not want to let go of that position.
Was Pazzini offside? well let me ask everybody this question, was Thiago Motta offside last week against Milan when he scored?
We must not forget how many penalties Inter suffered at the beginning of the season when nothing was going their way. So all this criticism over some very delicate calls from the referee should be kept at a minimum as last Sunday, Claudio Ranieri and crew did not complain about Motta's disallowed goal.
Inter now look ahead to their TIM Cup match against Napoli away from home.
This will not be a easy match and Ranieri has to decide if he will put a experienced or younger team together to make sure Inter has a better chance of victory. This is a delicate moment for Inter as they have to concentrate on all three competitions and keeping the player fit is a important task.
The Scudetto, TIM Cup and the Champions League are all important competitions for Inter as they always took all of them seriously.
Obviously now, Inter have a harder hill to climb when it comes to the third place spot of the Serie A standings.
Udinese are only three points aheaed of Inter and hopefully they will slip up before Inter has to play away against them in April.
Next Sunday, I will be a Juventus supporter as Juventus host Udinese. For this one time I hope Juventus defeat Udinese and Inter defeat Lecce. It will not be a easy match against Lecce as they are fighting to get out of the bottom half of the table and these matches can be very dangerous.
So until the next time I write.... Forza Inter!!!!
