Is Manchester City's bad boy Carlos Tevez worth all the trouble?
It would have been nice to have Tevez with Inter at the beginning of the season, when Eto'o left as he would have been the perfect replacement. But now, finally our strikers are finding their form at the best time possible.
If Milito can continue his fine form against Milan on Sunday, it would be fantastic.
Getting back to Tevez. I always found it strange that it was always being published by the international media that he only wanted to play with Milan compared to an Inter side full of Argentinian champions.
But now, Inter are in pole position again to sign the Argentinian striker, since Milan pulled the plug on the deal in the last minute.
It finally surfaced that the deal would have been finalised if Pato signed with Ancelotti's PSG. But something that many football fans did not take notice of is that Pato is the boyfriend to the daughter of Milan's president Silvio Berlusconi. Pato and Barbara Berlusconi have been an item recently, and it is obvious that Pato was in immediate contact with his future father-in-law making it a point he stays with Milan. So Berlusconi cancelled the deal.
If this was a family problem, Berlusconi did well. But when it comes to football, I believe Berlusconi made a mistake, as he could of offloaded a striker that is not on the best of terms with Milan's coach and they could of replaced him with a world class striker.
Now, when Inter thought it was all over, they are now the ones closest to getting Tevez's signature.
Tevez is a fantastic striker, but will he fit in with Inter's team at the moment?
Ranieri has found such a great balance in the team, on and off the field. I am really worried if Tevez does sign with Inter, things might change. We all know what Tevez did to former Inter coach Roberto Mancini, when he did not play as much as he wanted to with Manchester City.
A lot of Inter players will probably leave after this season, and Tevez might just be in Ranieri's future plans for the team. Obviously Moratti will not be forging ahead on this deal if Tevez was not needed. Financially it is not the best of times to just buy players for the sake of it, especially with UEFA's Financial Fair Play Rule.
Anyways, lets all hope it will be Milan's lose and Inter's gain if the deal gets finalised.
Now let's talk about the Milan derby that will be taking place this Sunday, 15 January.
Milan are the home side and are favorites since they are the defending champions. Saying this, Inter are coming off a fantastic run of victories under coach Claudio Ranieri and they could not have peaked at such a better time.
A derby like this has not been played in a number of years. When Mancini was in charge, Milan were already on a downfall, and with Mourinho it was the same thing as Inter were always the dominant side. But this Sunday both teams are practically equal.
Milan have more to lose than Inter as they are trying to edge ahead of Juventus in the standings, and anything other than a win for Milan will be a failure.
Now Inter would surely be happy with a victory, but a draw would also go down well.
And if Inter lose, it is not the end of the world as we still have a entire second half of the season to play and anything can happen.
There is still a lot of time left and many teams can lose or gain their form till the end of the season. After the Milan match, Inter still have 60 points to play for. Inter are still improving under Ranieri and basically they have nothing to lose on Sunday.... but Milan have everything to lose.
Now the match with Lazio that is coming up is something to play for, as they are above Inter in the standing and it is vital that Inter defeat them to start aiming for a Champions League position for next season.
Forza Inter!!!!!
