Inter must learn from Super Cup defeat

The Italian Super Cup match did not go as planned for Inter against Milan.
Losing 2-1 against your city rivals is not something easy to swallow, especially after they wrestled away the Scudetto away after such a long spell of dominance.
Inter ended the first half with a one goal advantage thanks to Wesley Sneijder. But the second half was a total different story. In the span of nine minutes Milan equalised and took the lead thanks to Ibrahimovic and Boateng.

Milan showed why they are the champions of Italy as they can turn a game around in the matter of minutes. It was how Inter used to play during the Mancini and Mourinho era.
Inter's new coach Gasperini also has a lot to learn from this match. His tactical changes in the second half destabilised the team to the point that they were all confused.
I do not accept excuses after a match, attacking the referee makes no sense, the players just have to accept the loss and try to make things better.
What I truly have a hard time understanding is this. With such a important and prestigious match against your city rivals why is it we leave our star players on holiday.
Inter pay Maicon and Lucio good money and when the team needed them, Gasperini leaves them on holiday. They are professionals and they can handle playing in the Coppa America and one match for a title.
If these players were selected for the Super Cup match, I think it would have been a different story.
Milan deserved the victory as they played with a full team and they did their job, even though they were not brilliant during the entire match.
Some people say it is only one small trophy, but it is a trophy and Milan have it now!
From what I saw yesterday, Milan are true favorites for the league and Inter have a lot of work to do if they want to win the Scudetto again.
I don't want to even talk about the Champions League as Inter have a lot of work to do if they want to keep their heads above the water in the Italian League.
On a final note, the transfer saga with Sneijder and now Eto'o is starting to get out of hand. All this talk of transfers in putting a lot of pressure on the coach and players as and plans for the future basically have to be put on hold until the coach knows what players he will have at his disposal.
Wesley Sneijder and Eto'o are very important players for Inter, but if they want to leave, they should just get to the point and let Inter plan and maybe get some new talent before the transfer window closes.
