Transfers and the new season
The new season is soon upon us and it seems there is a tranquil atmosphere at the Inter training camp. New coach Gasperini seems to be handling things well and he does not seem to pushing the players too hard.
A big match awaits Inter when they play against new Serie A champions Milan for the Italian Super Cup. I don't see any favourites for this match as both teams will have new signings and will be basically starting from scratch.
To be honest, Milan do have more new signings and it could be a tricky season for them until the new players blend in.
On the topic of transfers, will Sneijder be staying or not? This is the big question at the moment and as it looks he wants to stay with Inter. Saying this, he said the same thing before he left Real Madrid. The only real team that I can see Sneijder going to is Manchester United and this all basically depends on what Moratti wants to do.
The real mystery is Udinese's Sanchez. All the hype of Barcelona being close to signing him has basically ended. The court decision that makes Milan's Berlusconi have to pay just over half a billion euros basically puts them out of the question for Sanchez as well. Basically, in Italy Inter are the only real contenders to land Udinese's star player. If Inter do sell Sneijder to Manchester United, they will surely have the funds to lure Sanchez to the blue side of Milan.
Moving on to Maicon, it has been really quiet about were he would be playing next season, but it is looking as he will be remaining with Inter.
The best news of the week was that Eto'o has agreed to stay with Inter. Obviously, Moratti took out the cheque book and made sure his star striker would be staying on.
To be honest, it has been really hard to concentrate on the transfer market with all the distractions of Calciopoli.
Personally I just hope a final decision is taken and this farce does not keep on dragging on. But unfortunately, if Inter to get the title taken away from them, President Massimo Moratti has vowed to keep on fighting as such a decision would cost his millions.
So, till the next time I write, we wait for the decision of Sneijder and we will know if Inter keep the scudetto or not.
Forza Inter!!
