| Maicon should be back in the line-up this weekend |
Sorry but it has been a bit crazy lately and I did not even have the chance to write about last weekends match!!!
I was really happy to see Leonardo and Inter bounce back after that bitter defeat against Bayern last week. Julio Cesar produced some fantastic saves to keep Sampdoria at bay.
It was fantastic to see Sneijder score from a freekick again as it has been a long time since he has produced such magic.
Milan brushed aside Napoli on Monday. I was hoping for a draw, but Milan's penalty in the beginning of the second half was a low blow for the Napoli players and they could not regain their form.
With this result, Inter are in second place, five points behind their rivals Milan.
Hopefully this weekend, Juventus can produce another great performance against Milan as they did with Inter.
If Milan are defeated and Inter defeat Genoa, there will only be a two point gap and Inter can really start to dream about the Scudetto again.
Saying this, with so many games still left to be played this weekend or even the Milan derby will not make a difference in who wins the title.
The games against the smaller teams are the ones that count for both Inter and Milan.
Milan should not get carried away as Juventus are hungry for a victory after two consecutive loses. Juventus have enough talent to hurt Milan as they did in the beginning of the season.
Inter also have to be careful against Genoa. They have been getting some decent results lately and we cannot forget how they destroyed Roma by coming back from three goals down to defeat them 4-3.
If Inter do defeat Genoa this would secure a new record for Inter's coach Leonardo with 33 points in his first 13 games, in the era with three points for a victory. That would surpass the tally of 32 made by Fabio Capello’s Scudetto-winning Juventus in 2004-05 and is already an improvement on Jose Mourinho’s average.
It is going to be a exciting weekend starting from tomorrow night when Juventus host Milan as any result other than a win for Milan will be fantastic.... fingers crossed!!
