7 points clear!!!!

Well, the weekend could not have been better!!!! Juventus had a two goal lead against Napoli and ended up losing 3-2, and Inter played a hard game against a stubborn Livorno away and won 2-0. Today Buffon was right in saying that Championships are not won by beating big teams, but are won by beating the smaller teams, and Inter is doing just that. Being 7 points clear so early on is a bit of a shock for Juventus who sre suppose to be title contenders.
Next Inter have the must win Champions League match against Dynamo Kiev away. They have to win this match at all cost or else they are practically out of the Champions League. But I dont think it will get Mourinho fired, as he is still the best coach around, and Moratti knows that to build a team to win the Champions League takes time and you cannot just keep switching coaches or else the team will lose its way. This season Inter practically have a new team and if they win the Scudetto again in the process I think that is fantastic.
I personally think that winning a Scudetto over 30 odd games is more precious than a knock out competition like the Champions League. The only thing that the Champions League has in its favor is the amount of money a team gets from it and also the saying "you are the best team in Europe".
Anyways hopefully Inter will win next Wednesday and they can keep the critics at bay.
By the way I think I heard wight today, the Inter fans were chanting Mourinho's name.....so he must be doing something good!!!

What a week!!!

What a week in Italian football!!! Juventus shock Sampdoria, I must say was a good win for Juventus, they got the Championship running again. But Inter had a thrilling game against a high flying Palermo, what a game, 5-3 in favour of Inter.
Tonight Juventus have a tricky match against Napoli and Inter on Sunday against a new confident Livorno. No game is easy and the four point cushion Inter has on top of Juventus could not be more important.
What about Roberto Mancini, finally he cut off his links with Inter, but what a golden handshake, he got €11million in compensation and he has a great chance to coach Real Madrid. I must say Mancini has always been lucky to be in the right place at the right time, but good luck to him I liked him as a coach.
Back to Mourinho, yes it is true all know that Zenga would love to coach Inter one day, but I have a feeling even after 2013 Mourinho will stay. First of all no team can afford Mourinho's salary and I really believe Mourinho loves his job at Inter.
Zenga would be a good coach, but not right now, Inter have a fantastic project being built right know and Mourinho's experience is needed to keep it going and Moratti knows that. We all know Mourinho was brought in to win the Champions Leage but even Moratti knows the Champions League is a knock out system and you have to have a lot of luck to win it, he already admitted he would prefer another Scudetto so they can win five in a row.

Mourinho is right

This weekend Mourinho was under some criticism for some comments he made and decisions he has made about team rotation.
The comments he made about Balotelli are 100% correct as he has every right to correct the 'kid', yes you read right a 'kid'. And to help out Moratti, Sacchi and Milan's Leonardo gave Mourinho there backing for this.
Regarding the decisions Mourinho did about rotating the team, I think this is the perfect way to prepare for the Champions League. You need players rested, and now hopefully it will be a different thing in the next Champions League match when Inter have a full squad.
Regarding the games last weekend, Juventus played horribly, but I was impressed with Milan. I think Milan and Sampdoria are the teams Inter have to watch.

Champions League jinks still on Inter.

It has been a couple of weeks since I wrote last, but in that time Inter beat Udinese and Genoa, and are alone at the top of the Serie A standings. But the Champions League has not been so great. Inter did not lose, but with three draw they are at the bottom of the group, one point behind the other three teams who all have four points and Inter three points. The next away game against Dynamo Kiev will have to be played like its the last game Inter will ever play. They must win this match and sometimes I think it is better that Inter plays away, because they play with more desire for some reason and get good results. I get more nervous when Inter play at home as we always get somekind of surprise result.
The press this time around do not have to much to say against Inter other than the usual, because Barcelona really blew it against those Russian giant killers, a 2-1 result for them at Barcelona's home field is a amazing result.
The pressure is on Mourinho to get the results, but I am sure Inter will progress to the next round with Barcelona. And to make a final point about the Champions League, the away game against Barcelona will not be so easy for Barcelona because Inter finally have Milito and Motta back and I am sure they will have the desire to prove themsleves again, especially in the Champions League.

A bad run, but it is not the end of the world!!

Not such a disaster to have Sampdoria defeat Inter. Things are made easier by Juve playing to a draw last Sunday, they lost a golden opportunity to jump ahead of Inter. Looking at the Champions League, on paper Inter should have walked over their opponents but, like always football is a strange game. Inter were lucky to come out with a draw. As well like Mourinho said, the players he bought for Champions League games are all out injured. I knew right away it would not be a easy game when he pulled out Milito at the last minute. You can be the best team in the world, but if you remove 2 or 3 of your main players you will just become a average team with no direction.
After saying all this I really believe Inter will advance to the next stage of the Champions League, no group is easy, as Liverpool found out against Fiorentina.
Getting back to the league, Inter host tricky Udinese, it won't be a easy game. Inter need to win, even to get some positive vibes back in the team. Let's hope they play as good as they did against Napoli and Milan. But with Milito back and Sneijder they should be ok.
Regarding the comments Mourinho made about Juve getting preference from the press is absolutely true. So Inter play to a draw with Barcelona the best team in the world, and are criticized by the press; and on the other side of things Juve play to a draw with Bayern, and they get praise. This is absolutely crazy. But anyways, things like this push Mourinho and Inter to prove critics wrong.

Inter next stop - Sampdoria

Since the last time I wrote, Inter played to a draw with Barcelona, and have been on a winning streak in Serie A. They played a shaky game against Cagliari and a impressive game against Napoli. This is showing the team is still trying to gel together and the work of Mourinho is starting to show. Tonight Inter play Sampdoria away, and this match will not be easy as Sampdoria are a excellent team who can cause Inter problems, especially with Inter not taking along Sneijder and Muntari. Vieira will probably be taking the place of Sneijder, this still has to be seen. Hopefully Inter's true strength will show tonight and they will get over this hurdle with Sampdoria.
The battle between Inter and Juventus is officially on and I really believe this season will not have a team with a large margin in the standings. Whoever gets a gap of at least 6 points will surely be on the way to being Italian champions, as this season will be really close.
Regarding Mourinho's silence I think he is doing a good thing, not because I don't want him to talk to the press, but now the Italian press have nothing to write about. The Italians have to live with the fact that without Mourinho, the TV shows, newspapers and radio simply have nothing to talk about. I must say I always looked forward to his press conferences and the past week has been literally boring.
